Officials with the Alaska seafood Marketing Institute have a new partnership with Nordic skiing world champion Kikkan Randall to promote the health and fitness benefits of Alaska seafood.
ASMI executive director Mike Cerne announced the partnership on July 3, saying Randall embodies fitness, health and exceptional Alaskan spirit. “We couldn’t be more honored to partner with her,” he said.
Randall, of Anchorage, made history as the first American woman on the World Cup podium and then went on to become the first American to win the World Cup and the first American woman in the Olympic top ten for Nordic skiing.
Randall will compete in her fourth Olympic games at Sochi, Russia in February 2014.
ASMI is a public-private partnership between the state of Alaska and the Alaska seafood industry, established to foster economic development of the state’s wild seafood industry.
